Lesson Description

In this class, children will begin their artwork by marking the vanishing point on their sheet.  They will understand how to draw the line of horizon, by using the vanishing point as reference. They will be taught  that the ground lies below the line of horizon, while the sky lies above.

The children will understand the importance of drawing lightly, while sketching with a pencil. As the class progresses, they will practise drawing lines neatly with a ruler. They will be taught that the size of the objects can be changed to depict distance. Thus, children will understand how the one point perspective can be applied to landscapes. They will even learn how to draw the markings on the road using the one point perspective.

The children will use sketchpens to neatly outline their drawing. They will even learn how oil pastel techniques can be used to add detail to their work.
