Lesson Description

In this informative and engaging lesson, students will be introduced to the world of investing. The lesson begins with a captivating story about three friends and their different approaches to using a bag of seeds they each received, which serves as a metaphor for money management.

In the second part of the lesson, the students learn about various investment avenues such as stocks, bonds, land, and gold. They will learn about the associated risks and rewards of each and the importance of thorough research before investing.

The third part of the lesson explains the phenomenon of compounding, the process by which an investment grows over time. It likens compounding to a snowball gathering snow and growing as it rolls down a hill. The students will understand that the money grows because of the interest earned and that the interest can also earn more interest, leading to a faster growth of the investment.

The lesson also involves a fun and interactive game, where students will be given the chance to 'invest' in different options, enabling them to apply the knowledge they have learned throughout the lesson.

The lesson concludes by emphasizing the importance of investing in oneself through education and skills development, recognizing that they are the best investments a person can make.

The aim of this lesson is to provide a fundamental understanding of investing, explain the potential risks and rewards, and encourage responsible and informed financial decisions.
